Welcome to the SmartSEF URL Rewriter Component for Joomla 1.5 web site.

We are glad to announce the release of the SmartSEF URL Rewriter Component for Joomla 1.5. The SmartSEF URL Rewriter is a native Joomla 1.5 component that allows you to create Search Engine Friendly URLs for Joomla 1.5.

The first release is still a BETA 1.0 release. As beta software, the SmartSEF component is not appropriate for production environments. Please leave your comments and remarks on the SmartSEF Forum.

This website is still under development. The coming weeks we will provide documentation and a roadmap for SmartSEF. The first focus is to create a stable release as soon as possible. We can only achieve this with your help so please help each other in the SmartSEF Forum.

We need help with the translation of the SmartSEF administration back-end. If you like to help us please let us know in our forum.

Installation

You can install the SmartSEF component through the Joomla installer function. Please notice that your directories should be at least writeable. The SmartSEF installation will automatically install a system plugin to override the default Joomla router function. This plugin is enabled by default and the SmartSEF URL Rewriting Component is enabled by default.

Also for the SmartSEF URL Rewriter uses a slightly different .htaccess file for the rewriting of .rss links. You can download this from our download section.
